Soccer After School Club

Polk Middle School Small-Sided Soccer Program Futbolito - Futsal

Coaching Philosophy:
We will work on teaching fundamentals and skills during practice. We believe that athletes gain confidence and a love for the sport through positive feedback from parents, coaches, and other players. Small-Sided Soccer is about having the opportunity to experience different aspects of the sport. Skill level develops at different rates, but effort and having fun can always be achieved.

Practice Begins: March 29th, 2022
Practice Times: Tuesdays & Thursdays 3:05 - 4:15
Location: Gym or Outdoor Field

Physicals are NOT required for the Small-Sided School After-School Program. However, students
who participate are required to be registered with NMYSA and have signed a Waiver and Concussion

Students will need the following for practices:
● Water Bottles
● Athletic Clothes (Shorts, Long/Short-Sleeved Shirts, Pants, or Sweats)
● Shoes for Indoor Soccer, or Running Shoes
● Soccer Cleats for Outdoor
● Shin-guards
● Long Socks

As of this year there are no official scheduled games. The teams will be broken into small sided teams of 5v5 or
varying numbers depending on participants. We will have inter school tournaments for the participating
students. The coaching staff will be working to have at least 1 friendly game or scrimmage against one other
school which will be TBA once confirmed.

It is expected that all students who are participating in the Small-Sided Soccer after-school program will be picked up promptly at 4:15. School police will be called if a student is not picked up 15 minutes after practice has ended. There will be a “3-Strike” policy, if a student is picked up late 3 times then they will be asked not to participate in the program.

There will be a Girl’s team and a Boy’s team. Since there is so much flexibility with the season we will play in multiple formats of small-sided games. 4v4, 5v5, 7v7, 9v9 or 11v11 (if our numbers allow).
